Fees & Billing
-
Before scheduling your first session, I offer a free 15-minute consultation by phone or video.
This time allows us to talk briefly about what’s bringing you in, what you hope to find through therapy, and whether my approach feels like a good fit.
There’s no commitment — just a space to ask questions and decide if you’d like to move forward. -
Standard sessions (50 minutes): $165 per session
Therapy sessions are available in-person in Gilbert, Arizona, at Healing Hearts Counseling, and via secure telehealth for clients located anywhere in Arizona.Extended sessions are available upon request when additional time would support deeper EMDR processing or complex trauma work. These sessions are billed at a prorated rate based on length and discussed in advance.
I also reserve a limited number of sliding-scale spots for clients experiencing financial hardship. Please inquire if cost is a barrier; availability is reviewed periodically.

Payment is due at the time of service. Accepted forms of payment include:
Credit or debit cards
HSA/FSA cards (Health Savings or Flexible Spending Accounts)
All payments are processed securely through the electronic health record platform.

I am not able to bill insurance directly.
If your plan offers out-of-network mental health reimbursement, I can provide a superbill — a detailed receipt that you may submit to your insurance company.Reimbursement amounts and eligibility vary widely by plan.
If you’re considering this option, I recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask:Whether they cover out-of-network mental health services
What percentage of the session fee they may reimburse
Whether preauthorization is required
I’m happy to provide a guide for discussing these questions with your insurance representative.

Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are not using insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining expected therapy costs.
This estimate is provided after your intake session and before ongoing therapy begins. It includes the expected cost of sessions based on your individualized plan of care. If your treatment plan changes or extends, an updated estimate can be provided at any time.
You can learn more about your rights under the No Surprises Act on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) website.
-
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid being charged the full session fee.
I understand that emergencies and unexpected events happen — we’ll always discuss circumstances compassionately. -
Clear communication about cost and scheduling is part of the trust we build together.
You’re welcome to ask questions about fees, billing, or documentation for out-of-network claims at any time.
Before starting therapy, we’ll review all financial information together so you know exactly what to expect — no surprises, ever.
