Fees & Billing

A clear understanding of fees and policies helps you make confident, informed decisions about your care. Below you’ll find details on session rates, payment options, and policies for clients in both Arizona and Idaho.

  • Before beginning therapy, I offer a free 15-minute consultation by phone or video. This gives us a chance to talk briefly about what’s bringing you in, what you hope to experience in therapy, and whether my approach feels like a good fit for your needs.

There’s no pressure or commitment — simply a calm space to ask questions and get a sense of what working together might be like.

Idaho clients: Consultations can be scheduled through my SimplePractice portal.

Arizona clients: All consultations and scheduling is coordinated through Healing Hearts Counseling.

  • In Arizona, therapy is offered through Healing Hearts Counseling on a private-pay basis. Fee and payment information is included directly in your informed consent, which you will receive before beginning services. A standard psychotherapy session (50–60 minutes) is provided for individuals. Full fee details, payment policies, and cancellation guidelines are outlined in your consent documents so you always know what to expect. I am committed to transparency in all financial matters, and you will receive clear written information before we begin.

Sessions are available in-person in Gilbert, Arizona, or through secure telehealth for adults located anywhere in the state.

Extended sessions are available when additional time would support EMDR processing or deeper trauma work. These appointments are billed at a prorated rate based on length and are discussed in advance.

A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available for clients experiencing financial hardship, and availability is reviewed periodically. If you have questions about fees or your particular circumstances, I’m happy to talk with you.

  • In Idaho, therapy is currently offered on a private-pay basis through Sunny Rourke Counseling while insurance paneling is in progress. All clients receive a separate financial agreement before beginning services, outlining session rates, payment expectations, and cancellation policies. A standard psychotherapy session (50–60 minutes) is provided for individuals. Full fee information is provided before scheduling so you always know what to expect. I am committed to transparency in all financial matters, and you will receive clear written details before we begin.

Sessions are offered statewide through secure telehealth for adults located anywhere in Idaho. In-person availability will be announced as the practice expands.

  • Payment is due at the time of service. Accepted forms of payment include:

    • Credit or debit cards

    • HSA/FSA cards (Health Savings or Flexible Spending Accounts)

All payments are processed securely through the electronic health record platform.

  • I am currently not able to bill insurance directly.
If your plan offers out-of-network mental health reimbursement, I can provide a superbill — a detailed receipt that you may submit to your insurance company.

Reimbursement amounts and eligibility vary widely by plan.
If you’re considering this option, I recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask:

    • Whether they cover out-of-network mental health services

    • What percentage of the session fee they may reimburse

    • Whether preauthorization is required

I’m happy to provide a guide for discussing these questions with your insurance representative.

  • Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are not using insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining expected therapy costs.

This estimate is provided after your intake session and before ongoing therapy begins. It includes the expected cost of sessions based on your individualized plan of care. If your treatment plan changes or extends, an updated estimate can be provided at any time.

You can learn more about your rights under the No Surprises Act on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) website.

  • Your appointment time is set aside specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid being charged the full session fee.

I recognize that illness, emergencies, and unexpected situations can arise. When something unavoidable happens, we’ll discuss it with understanding and care.

Arizona clients: Cancellations and rescheduling are managed through Healing Hearts Counseling or by calling/texting (480) 656-7174.

Idaho clients: Cancellations and rescheduling are managed directly through my SimplePractice portal or by texting (208) 477-1302.

  • Clear communication about cost and scheduling is part of the trust we build together.

You’re welcome to ask questions about fees, billing, or documentation for out-of-network claims at any time.
Before starting therapy, we’ll review all financial information together so you know exactly what to expect — no surprises, ever.
