Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment please follow the guidelines below:
Arizona clients: All cancellation policies and scheduling changes are set and managed by Healing Hearts Counseling. For cancellations, rescheduling, or questions about their current policy, please call or text (480) 656-9174.
Idaho clients: Cancellation policies are outlined in the documentation you receive at the start of services. Cancellations and scheduling changes may be made through my SimplePractice portal or by texting (208) 477-1302.
Communication Policy
You are welcome to contact Sunny between sessions for scheduling or practical needs.

Please note: These methods are not fully secure. Clinical matters should be discussed during scheduled sessions or through the secure SimplePractice messaging.
Messages are checked during business hours, and responses are typically provided within two business days.
Phone, text, and email are not monitored for emergencies.
Good Faith Estimate (GFE) & Fee Policies
Under the No Surprises Act, clients not using insurance are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected therapy costs.
The GFE will be provided after intake paperwork is complete and before ongoing therapy begins.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service and is processed through SimplePractice.
Accepted forms of payment include:
Credit/debit cards
HSA/FSA cards
Out-of-Network Verification
Sunny Rourke Counseling is a private pay practice and does not bill insurance.
If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may request a superbill for potential reimbursement. If you plan to use out-of-network benefits, please verify them directly with your insurance provider.
Please note: Reimbursement is not guaranteed and varies by insurance plan.

Arizona Practice
In Arizona, Sunny provides in-person therapy for adults in Gilbert and telehealth services statewide through Healing Hearts Counseling. As an LAC, she practices under the clinical supervision of a licensed independent behavioral health professional, in alignment with AZBBHE regulations and the American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics.
All Arizona-specific fees, billing, policies, and scheduling are determined and managed through Healing Hearts Counseling.
Sessions are available:
In-person in Gilbert, AZ
Via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth statewide
Idaho Practice
In Idaho, Sunny practices independently through Sunny Rourke Counseling, providing secure telehealth services to adults throughout the state. All Idaho services are provided in accordance with ID DOPL rules and ACA ethical guidelines.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Your privacy is protected by federal and state law, including:

ACA Code of Ethics
Applicable Arizona and Idaho confidentiality laws
Information shared in therapy is confidential except in situations where disclosure is required by law, including:
Risk of harm to yourself or others
Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult
Court orders or subpoenas that mandate release of information
These situations are rare, and any required disclosure will be discussed with you whenever possible.
All documentation is stored securely within SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant electronic health record system.
Telehealth & Technology Policy
Telehealth sessions are conducted through SimplePractice, a secure and HIPAA-compliant video platform.
Clients must be physically located in Arizona or Idaho at the time of the session.
Please join sessions from a private, quiet location to support confidentiality and a focused therapeutic environment.
If technological difficulties arise:
We will pause, attempt to reconnect, and resume the session if possible. If the issue prevents continuation, the appointment will be rescheduled or adjusted as appropriate.
Recording Sessions
Therapy sessions are not recorded unless you provide explicit, written permission. If a recording is requested for supervision or training purposes:
You will be fully informed of the purpose and use
A signed Recording Consent Form is required
Recordings are stored securely and never shared outside the approved context
All recordings are deleted once no longer needed
Consent may be withdrawn at any time without penalty
